animation with rhino / bongo

Hello,
just did a quick animation test and realized that when the frames are rendered in the rhino render window, proxies are not visible and the hdr image I used to light the scene is not used.
is there any workaround yet?
best regards
Andreas

I haven't noticed this before, but it is possible the sun direction is being set each frame, which is overriding the HDR environment. I will have a look over the next day or two. Proxies should work (but I haven't actually tested animation of proxies), but again, I will check it out.
Are the above issues happening when you animate a walkthru or flythru (ie. not using Bongo)?
Are you using Bongo1 or 2?

actually I just noticed it was not a hdri but the octane daylight system which was overridden.
it happened to me using Rhinos animation tools as well as bongo 2.0 animation (render window is the same...)
In my bongo 2.0 test I simply animated the camera by pressing the animate button in bongo, dragging the time slider to 100 ticks and changing the camera in the viewport.
In my rhino test I animated the camera along a curve.
there was no object animation in my scene only camera movement

P.S. I also noticed that each frame has to be loaded and "voxeled" again, is there any possibility to change this? or if not what can be done to shorten the process of loading / voxelization? joining the geometry (meshes) which shares the same materials ?

Ah Yes - there is a known issue with the daylight system whilst rendering animations. It's on the list of things to do and will be fixed, but there are other things in the queue before it.

If you open the Viewport, and then render the animation, the scene will be rendered from the geometry already loaded into the Octane scene - so no voxelization - but also not geometry movement - so it's good for fly through's. I'm pretty sure this is in the manual, but ifit's not, I will add it.

Go to Rhino Options > OctaneRender and check "Use Viewport Rendertarget Geometry when Rendering".
Paul, not present in the manual.
Regarding Proxy it seems they are not exported correctly to the Rhino Render Window.

totally cool ! can't wait to try it out ... thanks!

P.S.: If the communication and feature Implementation keeps up this pace, then octane4rhino might become a real "gamechanger" for my workflow, I am really excited.

Hi Andy
There is a reasonably big update coming with Rhino SR7. I have finished 90% of the coding - but there are some API changes and plugin changes that have to propagate through the system, so it is a month or two away. I am putting all bug fixes and enhancements in this release rather than patching them into the current 1.20.1 line. So apologies if some of these things are not fixed until then Rhino SR7.
