first, when using specular materials make sure your scale is set properly, otherwise, light wont move through the diamond properly.

After that, I will assume you have everything setup correctly. Use an HDRI with lots of light sources, maybe even color. this will give your diamonds something to reflect. if you have a white environment, they wont look good at all. Also create a key light so that your diamond really pops.

I have looked at my fiances diamond ring a lot and I noticed, oddly enough, it looks best at night at gas stations. I think its because of all the light sources that it is reflecting.

So, maybe even a studio light HDRI instead of a panoramic scene might work, but I'm not sure.

Oh, I forgot to mention to make sure that your actual model is created properly. The facets in a diamond are very precise and the angles are in a perfect way so light gets refracted at the perfect angles to make the diamond sparkle. If your angles are off, or you don't have all the facets, it just wont work, or wont sparkle as much.

Very important that you use Path Tracing or preferably PMC too.

Thanks for your help kavorka. The diamonds are perfectly cut, and are real life size.

Ps: Is there a diamond material in the livedb?

Cheers
