Hi res rendering problem

I'm having problem rendering an image in higher resolutions.

Initially I was rendering it at 2752x1416 and it all went fine. Now the client asked for a higher resolution render to put it on a big billboard so I upped the resolution to 1700x8712. IPR sets the correct aspect of a preview window and it all renders fine. But when I use F9 rendering, the render preview window sets the correct aspect but the resolution and zoom of an image is wrong. In X axis the image is twice as small and in the image I can see too much in Y axis as if the zoom factor became smaller.

I need to provide the client with this image ASAP, is there a quick fix to render it properly ?

It renders fine if the X resolution is around 9000 or less, if I go bigger then 9000 I get those distortions.

If I set it to F9 render at 20000x10274 I get a 8192x8192 resolution image.

I'm fairly sure LW used to have a render limit. It may even have been 8000x8000 so it could be that. Try a non octane F9 at the size you want to see if it's a LW issue.

There wer plugins to split up bigger camera sizes, but dont' remember what they were.

Boris, you can't split this bad-boy in two with render region?

I am going to test it ASAP ... I never try to render at this resolution before.

I think that Octane can't render a image bigger than 8192x8192 ... a GPU limitation?

Yes ... I can only get a 8192x8192 image ... Octane frame buffer can't be bigger. I will try standalone to see if there it works.

Also Standalone can't render images bigger than 8192x8192 ... this is a limitation of Octane, perhaps due some kind of GPU texture or frame buffer size limit :(

Perhaps you could use the limited region to render it ...

Ok, thanks for getting to the bottom of this. I will use limited region to render 4 images and then stich them in PS.
