Transparency maps and shadows question

Hello,

I recently discovered Octane and I tried to experiment a bit with the demo. But as the thread topic already says, I have a question regarding transparency maps and shadows the objects with such maps applied are casting.

In the screenshot attached, there is a simple test I performed with a square plane that has a floatimage transparency map applied to it. But the shadow it is casting is... square - so the opacity map does not affect the shadow.

Is this normal? Or is this a limitation of the demo? Or, am I missing something - doing something wrong?

Thanks for any info.

2.2b commercial and demo versions don't yet allow direct light trough opacity maps.
this will be added in the beta 2.3 final release coming soon.

it's written in the release notes.

Thanks for the info.

Edit:
I did read the release notes posted at the download page but I did not see this in there... But again thanks for letting me know so at least I'm not on a chase for a ghost here... ;)
