Help with getting a static Daz Carrara scene into Octane

Hi, I was thinking of upgrading to Carrara 8.5 but really want to use octane for rendering and to date, I've never been able to export a Carrara scene (with Daz Genesis content) that would import successfully into Octane. Does anyone know if there are any optimal settings that I should use when exporting from Carrara? With daz studio I can just export a Daz scene as on obj with materials and load directly into Octane. If I try to do the same thing from Carrara, Octane just crashes when I import the mesh and start the render

I didn't post this in the plugin forums as I'm not looking for any fancy plugin that will integrate with the Carrara interface, just a way of exporting a static scene in Carrara and opening it up in Octane. Any help would be greatly appreciated(especially before the Daz upgrade pricing offer runs out!) Thanks.
