Feature Request: Walk mode navigation

Hi I am using Octane with Sketchup to model and render architecture, e.g. my house extension.

The one feature I miss in Octane is a "walk mode navigation" similar to that available in Sketchup. It is hard to navigate within buildings in Octane. It is good for looking around objects, but not for moving around within objects.

The walk function would allow you to move forward and backward, and turn left and right. Together with the pan function this is very powerful. Ideally you should also be able to use this mode with the arrow keys, not only the mouse.

Cheers,

Richos

Ideally that would work like in a first person shooting game, I recon.

While holding left mouse button:

Move the mouse to look around;
W moves forward;
S moves backward;
A strafes left;
D strafes right;
Q moves up;
E moves down;

Yes, that would be even better than sketchup (although I would prefer the arrow keys) because there you have to change to "look around" mode to look around.

So:

up: forward
shift-up: up
down: back
shift-down: down
left: turn left
shift-left: pan left
right: turn right
shift-right: pan left

with mouse for look around

+1000 for wasd navigation... this is why I use 3ds max and not the stand alone version, as I find navigation horrible.... sorry
