Are the houses also modelled or is it a background image ?
Very nice result !!

The street and houses are modeled by Stonemason. He's the guy if you want detailed buildings :)

Very nice! Did you just use texture maps for the skin on the girl?

Yes, everything in the scene uses a texture map but they have all been resized to get it into Octane.

Thanks, Zay! Good to know. That skin is one of the best rendered textures I've seen not using materials. Keeps things simpler. :)

I have never seen human skin made only by materials that look more natural than a textured skin. But I would like to see it if you have a link to make me think otherwise :)

Usually I see it in combination with textures, but there's usually something off about it. I think sometimes people use it to cover flaws in the texture map - possibly covering up over-painting or trying to de-emphazise textures that still had "baked in" specular, etc. I always thought it should be easier to use a good texture, bump, specular combination than fiddling with extra materials. But to be fair, sometimes it's folks trying to fake SSS.
