one thing to correct is the shoes, the carpet isn't affected by their weight, they looks like floating over it... Maybe you should place them elsewhere...

hi snake12, the carpet is a simple plane, segments 12 both sides, y select hair and fur, i just touch the option style and move a few lines, and the parameters option hair account 10 000 i put 50 000 and later i been do hair to mesh, is has genereated the carpet.
i delete the plane, then i scale the carpet in the axis Y.
that's all, the trick is in the option stile move the lines to do a carpet like mine
let me do a video tutorial to upload and see how i work the process.
is my method to do a carpet, ok ?.
exist many and another ways to do a realistic carpets.
