Defining Light color by wavelength?

Hello Octane users & developers!

I've got spectral data for various gas-discharge lamps, and would like to put it to use in my project. Does Octane allow user-defined spectra for its lights? In other words, entering a set of wavelengths and their emission power?

The manual mentions Gaussian spectrum emission, but this is limited to a single wavelength and curve width.

If it's not available, are there any future plans for this feature?

Thanks!

P.S. Blender user here, tempted by Octane's amazing rendering speed.

Hi all,

No answer here?
What a pity , I would have been definitely interested!

hi,
i'm not an expert in this field, but you can use a spectral wavelength in the texture/efficiency pin, and you can use a mix texture node for mixing two different wavelength with a falloff node in the amount, for example.
so the answer is yes but you need to define a multy node relation between all the different wavelength that you want to pass to the efficiency channel of a texture emission, i think ;)
