max buffer colour distortion

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but here's what I found:

After 5 hours of PMC render, when the image looks almost as if it was created using biased methods(very clear), and I go ahead and port it to max framebuffer to save, max framebuffer loses color depth. E.g. within octane render window the gradients lines between similar colours are virtually nonexistent, but when I port it to max framebuffer, it introduces colour artifacts -> the gradient lines between similar colours(banding artifacts)

So from there onwards, it doesn't matter which settings I use to save it, the image is already distorted and there is no way of me getting that exta colour clarity back.

Is there any way of saving the entire colour depth, as seen inside octane framebuffer?

I am attaching the image output I got so you can clearly see what I'm talking about. Bear in mind that print-screening octane window and saving the image from clipboard also introduces banding acrtifacts, albeit they look a but different than max framebuffer.

check your gamma/LUT settings in the preferences menu.It should be disabled. Then save your image with any rgba16bit or rgba32bit format like TARGA TIFF EXR. I didnt pay attention for it but i never realized something like that.
