Download DB Live files?

I work at a facility that prefers to keep its edit computers off the internet. I am new to Octane and wonder if its possible to download ALL the DB Live materials so we can archive then on the computer as opposed to have to go online when we need a material. This is crucial to our being comfortable using Octane on a day to day basis. I know this is an issue for other facility's as well.

Hi lasvideo,
Sorry, no, there is no support for downloading mass materials from the LiveDB.
If you need to use the materials offline, you will need to save them as OCM files and transfer them to the offline machine(s) manually.
Thanks
Chris.

And yet another reason not to use Octane. One disappointment after another. Lets hope Maxon adds GPU rendering to C4D R15!

It is not needed to have the materials offline, but if you want to be 100% sure to use them offline for a reason you can save them.
Don't be afraid to spend a little time in saving a few good materials from the DB library... It is not that hard.
The materials are made by users and are very nice to start with and make your own materials by tweaking them.
You are going to save the new materials you made. I see no reason to be disappointed, I see reasons to be excited.
Instead of looking for reasons not to use Octane you can approach this issue differently? I hope you will

For my own, I never use the Live DB, because it doesn't allow to edit the textures, as well as it doesn't allow control on the memory load. Textures scaling and rotation can also require tedious tweakings. Also, I actually spend less time to build my own materials and textures that match exactly my needs.
This said, I use Octane since it's very beginning, and I can say that it is my favourite render engine ! There are so many reason to use it ! Why being stopped by the live DB ?
I see the live DB as A BONUS for hurry (or lazy) people, but it doesn't remove any interest to Octane. My only critics about the live DB is that for the aforementioned reasons, I consider its implementation as a waste of developpement time, as it never appeared necessary to me. The only benefit I have to admit about the live DB is that inspecting its materials has an educational interest in the learning process of connecting nodes, because the manual is a bit slight in that area.
