Can anyone refresh My memory is this situation has been fixed before. using Genesis baby and Victoria 5 Loaded first. I will attempt and save and restart of the scene to see if that fixes it. sometimes Octane Render does tend to change after restarts.
Anyhow it is a great thread as a reminder of what situations this may mimic. As in the eyes in some software rendering that tend to show in black or see through.
I am just baffled at why this happened to an entire character.

I don“t know how to interpret the memory display, but it looks like you have 513MB used from 536MB.
This would explain the black model. There is no place in the ram to load the texture...

looks like i need to update versions as well and reboot to try and fix memory issue. I am not sure what causes that. :o

... if it is a ram issue, you should finde some log entries in the messages box (system tab), telling about something that could not load.

sometimes if matte is on, something might appear completely black, but afaik that'd be not the case in this scene...

it was a ram i believe.. but i just realized that Octane render now has been showing models in color.. Ive seen it before and thought it was the only way... But its great something has them showing up in color.
I have the matt off but I am thinking there is something setting that i have to get use to as in knowing the limitations of what i can do from a laptop.
I am assuming with my RAM that I am going to have to to get one of those thunderbolt PCI drives to be able to have a card with more RAM. which is nice since being so the card can go into a desktop when i get it one day.

btw, i'm working on a feature, that will allow on-thy-fly resizing of maps, to reduce vram use.

what you can do now is to turn the "use base geometries" switch on - apart from getting a little better performance it'll also save some vram for the mesh(es), at the cost of less smoothed meshes of course, and of course to avoid unneeded stuff... i see you have a skydome in the scene, and i guess it uses a pretty large map so you might try to remove it (the octane sunlight creates a nice - cloudless ;) - sky imo (at least using the new model). or remove bump maps for parts barely visible, (like the eyes)...
