Changes since 1.13
  • Improved ForestPack and MultiScatter detection.
  • Improved bump mapping for highly specular glossy materials and for specular materials
  • Improved normal interpolation of poorly triangulated geometry when viewed at shallow angles
  • CUDA devices are not available/used if CUDA driver has wrong version (i.e. is too old)
  • Diffuse transmissive materials with a medium inside are rendered correctly with alpha shadows enabled.
  • Fixed addition of render devices while being paused.
  • Fixed incorrect alpha transparency when diffuse and transmission are zero
  • Improved noise reduction of diffuse materials with transmission
  • Fixed kernel failure when you try to render a very small image with PMC
  • Matte material is now only applied on the first bounce, i.e. the indirect effects of the matte object stay the same
  • Improved bump/normal mapping for diffuse and glossy materials
  • Added camera lens distortion parameter.
  • Fixed black rendering with directlighting when both glossy and specular depth are set to 1.
This version requires video driver 301.42 or higher.

Limitations on old cards
The PMC kernel and the matte material options don't work on old graphics cards (GTX 2xx, compute model < 2.0).

DOWNLOAD

We have 4 separate archives available for download, for Autodesk® 3ds max® 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Each archive contains the manual and installation text file, and both 32bit and x64 versions of the plugin,
so you only need to download one archive for your 3ds max® version from the following download links:

3ds max® 2010: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/plugi ... _v1.17.zip (50MB ZIP File)
3ds max® 2011: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/plugi ... _v1.17.zip (50MB ZIP File)

Problem starting MAX Design 2012 x64.
There's something wrong with my menu file and I can't start MAX... Although I haven't used MAX for almost 10 days, I think there was nothing wrong with it... I just installed (copied the files) Octane 1.17 for MAX and I wonder if there is a connection...

In Material Editor, Utilities/Reset Material Editor Slots.
All the material slots get populated with Arch & Design materials, not Octane Materials,
This is in Max Design 2013

Just use the 2013 files. They work in 2014 too.
