I am having trouble , I sometime change the texture in daz scene and octane will still show old texture in the ender window?? no change.
I cant seem to find the reload texture form daz??
is there a capture screen in the manual to show how this is done.
or is there a better method of changing a texture in a scene without having octane loosing the change?

Hi,
I have the same issue, in material , right click on the root of object and select "Texture for ...." and select "replace all active maps". This works for me, but even save, when reload, the texture are always missed.

@giovanino: there is no automatic link between daz materials and octane materials, they are converted on load, but afterwards they need to be edited independently.

and because daz shaders and octane materials work very different, those auto generated materials are rather basic anyway; if you want to improve renderings done with octane, it is highly recommended to learn how octane materials work and to tweak them to your needs. by then, at the latest, it is no longer possible to replace maps automatically - maps may be used in very different ways within an octane material, and the plugin will never know if it would be ok to replace a map in an octane material that was changed in a linked daz shader.

there are still several ways to get new or changed maps from daz shaders into an octane material:
- by right clicking one or more octane materials or one or more daz surfaces (or the daz object root), and use the "textures for" menu plus "replace" the maps currently in use in the octane material by the ones currently in use in the linked daz shader(s)

- by importing them into the octane material by selecting "take" - this will create new image nodes in the octane material, leaving the current node setup intact. note that this imports any available map into the octane material, even if it isn't currently used; i.e. if the daz shader uses a reflection map, which isn't used when materials are converted, it will also be imported.

- by selecting "take and connect" the plugin again imports any available map from the daz shader(s), and connect them all to all pins of material type nodes in the octane material, depending on their use in the daz shader - if this results in something meaningful is heavily depending on how the octane material looks like. in general it just saves a little time connecting nodes, but will most probably need additional tweaking.

- the latter options are also available directly in the nodegraph editor for any single octane material, by right-clicking an empty space and selecting "import" or "import and connect".

can you please describe what exactly you mean with "but even save, when reload, the texture are always missed"? i did some quick tests, but found no obvious issue, so i'd need to know a little more about what happens when you see this problem...

Hi t_3,
I do the replace texture and then save the scene. Restart DAZ and reload the scene, test a render : texture are missing, have to do the replace again.
Perhaps I miss something when save ?

Edit : I have replace texture and then verify that all material is well chosen, DELETE all unlinked material and save. Bingo, after reload, all is OK. So that's fine. I think that I have too many unlinked material in the scene.

strange; i did just the same to quickly test it:
- load textured genesis
- changed a diffuse map in the daz shader
- did a plugin replace
- saved
- opened again
... map still there.

the replace is not much more than selecting another map from the pinnode image menu by hand; except the fact, that maps added to a daz shader from disk (using "browse") currently are not added to the octane node image menu - this btw will be included in the next update.

can you please pm me 2 saved test scenes: one before replacing maps, and another one after replacing mats. it would be ideal if you try it with a default textured genesis (so it loads correctly on my machine), and include the map(s) you loaded afterwards (which you did use for replace), plus write down the full path (letter:\folder\folder...\map.jpg) of these maps, so that i can recreate the exact same conditions...
