Hi Paul,
I found out that an animated object (with animtion path) works rendering using flythrough with Photorendering settings In Lightworks engine, but not when Photorendering settings set to Octane Render.
greetings, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen
Can you pls try....
- Load the scene
- Open the plugin Setup window
- Do NOT Open the Viewport
- Photorender the animation
The above workflow should force the photorenderer to reload the Octane scene each frame. Does this resolve the issue?

Hi Paul,
I cheered out loud a little to soon.
The workflow works for the animated part, but then the proxies are not loaded.
And when I open the OR viewport first and close and then Photorender the animation.. the proxies are loaed but the animated objects don't animate.
update:
Not to confuse: in one scene I have one AC object that standard can be animated along path and I have another object add with OR plugin proxy. Or one works or the other.
greetings, Jeroen

Yes, rendering animations and geometry proxies cannot currently be done at the same time.
http://render.otoy.com/manuals/ArchiCAD/?page_id=39. I will add support for this in a future version, but the ArchiCAD API has some limitations that may preclude this being possible.

RTFM

I should have read the manual better... But finding out is learning
Would be great in future though, hopefully it will be possible.
Up to this point being able to make great animations with the plugin is already awsome

Hi Paul,
Trying to make an animation with moving objects I am encountering this:
when opening the plugin render window before starting animation rendering it does not take the movements in accont, but it does have good colors.
This is shown in "Movetest-02.mp4"
To make a correct animation with moving objects I have to not have opened the plugin render window before starting animation rendering in Archicad using the Octane render.
But then the colors are not correct.. it seems to be in claymode?
This is shown in "Movetest-03.mp4"
greetings, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen - does the info at
http://render.otoy.com/manuals/ArchiCAD/?page_id=39 answer your question? If you have proxies in your scene, you will need to have the OctaneRender Viewport open in order for them to appear in the Photorenderer (and thus in the animation output). However moving objects will not then be picked up. So there are some limitations in this area. If the cylinders that have no material are NOT proxies, then this is a bug - and if so, can you pls send me the pla and I will fix it.

Hi Paul,
Yes I am aware of the issue described in the manual. I looked it up when I encountered the problem.
The cylindes are no proxies. In fact in this test scene I have not used any proxies. The groundplane is a mesh and that material is also not there. It really looks like a bug and that the render pass is showing the clay node instead of normal, whilst the render mode in the target node is set to normal.
Greetings, Jeroen
