Beta 0.5.9 (SDK 1.17 ) (old version)

Hi all,

This is a quick fix for some issues and has Octane Sdk 1.17.
This version can have some problems and it's testing.
If you encounter serious issues please stay a older stable version.

INSTALL: Remove all older data and copy c4dOctane folder to Cinema4D plugins directory

Enjoy it


VERSION: Beta 0.59
changes since Beta 0.5.7
- fix on colors of videopost rendering (weird colors for histogram)
- memory leak problem on rendering
- sdk 1.17
- new picker algoritms (dof, mat picker)
- small fix on geometry update detection and geometry channel limit increased to eight for OctaneObjectTag

this is new release which contains sdk 1.16. Also has some multiprocessing functions for speed.
But this can cause lot of cpu usage. Please check this, you can try to increase display refresh rate.

Some major changes since Beta 0.5.0
- Texture search paths is extending(10 texture paths)
- Save projects command improved (collect any texture from absolute or texture paths to target project folder)
- support Sdk 1.16 features
- Macosx release and demo
- Animation rendering crash and hold problem fixed
- preview renderings is working nicely (i hope)
- new camera parameters:
distort, aperture edge. Also camera film offset is linked to octane camera.
- panoramic camera crash fixed
- fixed material group checkboxes
- Speed optimisation

Hi aoktar,

it shows 0.5.6 in the preview manager to me, when i install the new 0.5.7 (Win R14)?!
Is it only me or did you miss change version number or is it the wrong package in the right zip? :?

Or do I have a crazy mad octane day today? :oops:

Anybody else tried yet?

what does this do? can it convert C4D's gradient to an image texture?

Could you check what version is displayed for you in the preview window? 0.5.7?

yes, exactly. Some shader can works, some not.

One hour has passed and I have the new 0.5.7 and reactivated after deleting my oct.dat file but still it wont render and I have an animation I need to render out.

Help anything else I can try?

can you try a simple scene? Also 0.49 or 0.50 version of plugin?
