Hi All,
Excuse my complete ignorance but I am new to Octane and C4d..probably wont be the last asking this as many are coming to 3d via the new after effects cc with c4d.
Anyway I tried a render for an animation last night and it took hours loading full scene for every frame, oh well I thought better buy octane power tools to speed process up, the website seems to have gone.

has it been bought by otoy? is it redundant? if not where can I get this now or is there similar?
hope someone can shed some light.
Craig

Hum... there is a a octane for C4D plugin that will help you much imho... I've used it for a while and there many options keyable and it run and update rapidly.
You should try the demo first to see if that fits your needs.
The octane powertools seems like macro commands you can animate camera and lights but nothing more, if you need geometries and other tweaks then you need c4dOctane plugin as it's more powerfull.

Thanks Ludovic,
I am using the c4d plugin and I can get animation to work with camera but as far as I know power tools lets you render sequences without the step of reloading everything to gpu for each frame, making for very fast renders. As I pointed out I'm new to all this but if anyone can shed some light..if I find out more I will post.
Thanks

I think the best thing you can do is just give the C4D plugin a go. Power tools are not supported or recommended for that matter by OTOY.
cheers,

All I know is that Octane Power Tools is not in any way affiliated with Octane and has been infringing on Octane's copyright. Maybe they finally shut him down, as they have been trying.
There was a post a while back where the Octane team described exactly what is going on, dont know where it is though.

Oh well. Copyright infringement eh? Would be nice to see some of the functionality of it integrated.
Once again cheers

with c4d-octane plugin you can do preview animation without recharging the mesh on gpu every frame and you can do a lot of other things not possible to do with standalone and exporter
