I was curious to see one of my old projects having a "new life" with octane render :o

Bon, histoire de rigoler un peu avec octane, je lui ai collé une scène datant de mes études histoire de le remettre au gout du jour ^^

Octane + some photoshop tweaks ^^

i thought i did comment here lol.

Very nice render.
love the grass
love the atmo

but the hair could use a bit of work. ;)

The eyes give the picture mystery and that kind of feeling when it is cloudy as, and you are walking down a dirt path and it is full dark blue.
or something like that.[this is a good thing btw  ]

awesome job

Frankly I reckon is too dark even if the shot is taken 'by moonlight' or sort, for what I can see it looks a decent render but
rising the brightness will help. ;)

here's my two cents:

i think the image could benefit from different lighting. i disagree with justix i.e. i don't think raising exposure would help much. my suggestion would be to re-light. make her brighter OR darker then the background. the kicker on her right side only shows on her - but not her surroundings. the vignetting on the left side doesn't work for me. the biggest problem for me though is the darkish thingy behind her. it has the same brightness/darkness then your main subject.
hope that helps.

Your exposing of what you think is the problem looks more complex, like to say.."do it again, it does not work"..I just stated that it looks dark and can't see much properly, then everything could work but maybe this is what the author wanted...

i guess the point i tried to make was that a low key scene - in my very personal opinion of course - is only a successful one with the proper use of back-light hitting well chosen areas. if that's the case, the rest of the scene might as well be almost completely dark and the scene would still work.

hmmm... the truth is that is a very old project, and the most of textures used are lost or hidden somewhere in one of my disk… So, the hair have neither their diffuse nor their opacity textures..

This character live in a parallel world where light does not exist everywhere. The world consist on a hollow planet which the center is the only lightsource... So, everything are reaaaaaally dark ^^
