There is a good potential in the scene. You need a good grass solution, there is a noticeable tiling in the roof, and the overall lightning is very simple and homogeneus, making it look like a maquette. I would increase the FOV, and try with an HDRI environment or a sky.

Thank you for your critical eye!
Grass: I kind of liked the grass.. what should I do different?
Roof Texture: Yeah.. I need to work on improving my textures.. thanks.
Lighting: It is HDRI based. I did brighten the shadows in Photoshop for the benefit of seeing the entry and coach lights, etc. I will see what I can do.
Increase FOV: Mmm. I really do not want to see more of the landscaping. I want to focus on the home. Please share with me more insight (since I am not an expert) what would I want/hope to accomplish by increasing FOV?

Thanks again!
Brian

Could you share the scene so I can make a version to my taste?

Hi! I may take you up on that.. It is a pretty big scene, though.

I am going to do an exterior video next. What should my settings start at? Direct Lighting, AO? Any other ideas?

Let me build a quick similar scene to see how would I work it.

My 2 cents: An open FOV is nice to make something look more natural in my opinion (but do not overuse it) This is a scene built from sketchup to make something similar.

Ahh.. I do see your point on the FOV.
Your sky/sun is awesome! How did you do it?

Also you can take a look at my workflow on exteriors, if it helps you:

The sky is just a photo pasted in photoshop. The sun is from Octane, including bloom and glare. The image has some extra bloom in photoshop (subtly) and the intensity is lowered a bit.
