3ds Max/Octane Plugin to Octane Standalone Export?

Hi All,

New to this forum and Octane. Needless to say, my mind has been blown away by the quality of the renders on this forum!

Now to business. Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but I could not find a definitive answer to this question after a 2-week search.

I currently own Octane Standalone as well as the Octane Max plug. I can't seem to be able to figure out how to export my Max Octane scene into Octane standalone. Is this even possible?

I understand there 'may' be a 3DS Max>Octane Standalone export script out there, but the 2 threads I found on the topic went nowhere. =( I was hoping there was an official commercial script here somewhere...

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and hope someone can point me in the right direction.

best,
O

.. I just tried searching for it, to check if there was an update.. not sure where the thread went, or why, but here's the script that I have, and I guess there is no new version, this script seems to work fine on all versions

- be sure to check export settings so it uses more than 1 material, goto export Obj/mtl only - map export / check Map channel to auto..

(actually on 2014, the scaling might be off or something, just checking it..)

- this version will not output your octane live materials - to octane standalone materials, they will show up without textures - it was designed to use standard materials to output to octane standalone, so if you use standart materials it will export textures

Thank you very much. This will help tremendously!

It's a shame that it does not export the Octane mats, but still extremely useful.

Thanks again!

acc24ex, I forgot to ask,

Will this script retain the UVW coordinates from Max?

Thanks again.
