Just a quick proposal for a friend. AO as usual. Blomm+glare from Octane and a little bit of adjustment into photoshop (bit of leveling and and the intensity is a little reduced)

this is not convincing me too much. overall it's very narrow, and the light is greyish so doesn't feel like a comfortable space..

That 250 watt light bulb would give me a headache.

I think you should put a light source in the top right hallway which would allow you to turn down that light on the stairs.

Ok, here´s an update following your tips. I see now the light fixture in the wall was way too powerful. I added a bb emitter in the upper part to help balance the illumination. The wall light is now weaker and the overall tonality is a bit more warm.

About the floor tiles and the narrowness of the shot, I can´t do nothing with that, since it´s a real house. It´s owner wanted me to test that green color combined with some flower vinyls. Do you think it´s looking better now? I think so.

Do you really see it dark? The first image was dark indeed, but for the second I see it with a good illumination balance. More light would start to blown out things.

I attach my settings for the kernel and the imager:
