it has something nice to it. It does not work totally. I don't like that the 'texture' in the background stays the same even if you move the camera.

I don't like the filter as well, but the characters animation is excellent. The set is simple, but I wonder how you could keyframe such long and rather complex animation in one week only ! Impressive work ! Did you chain some mocap files ?
