Food realism

Hi
This is my first foodrealistic trie.
Can somebody advise me, what should I do for mor realistic result?
Materials, mesh etc. This is not the end composition, I am only not satisfied with realistic look of this scene.

It took me 5 minutes to get the same as snack.
It's pretty realistic, I don't think you should waste time trying more, unless I look really close thanks to such close-up, I really wouldn't notice it's not real. Very good job

I think the bread needs more work, it looks more like plastic to me...

The meet slices are too sharp circled, the bread material needs to be adjusted specially for the brown areas and its highlights, also it needs to be scaled in respect to the onion and the board (its too big right now), some little pieces of the meet on the board and from the bread on the table will help to.
The board's texture need to have some dirt map overlayed so you get some variation of colors. And finaly dont put everything parallel to each other, boring to the eye, try to move/rotate them to make an interesting elements composition. Also some out of focus objects in the background will enrich the scene;)

On second thought, this is good advice, except for scale. This is how hungry people cut bread, that is still rather thin.

i would give the sausage some greasy shine on the cut face and the outer skin a dusty/chalky feel:

have you tried a second , semitransparent skin for the leek/onion ? a visible "layering" would be nice. also some moisty freshness wouldn´t hurt:

the cut face of the bread is too spikey make it smoother with bigger round pores(hope your not eating, don´t know the right term

)
the spikeyness is working for the crust but it could use some cracks and holes:

oh and breadcrumps would be fabulous
try some usage marks on the blade:

Clever to put bread and knife into the background.
The arrangement is much better.
The tablecloth gives a nice depth perception.
What about those breadcrumps?
What kind of lighting do you want to use (neon,daylight,spot)?

if i would come across this image on the internet for example i would never think this is CGI
