Hi,

The plugins are not available yet to demo users, only to licensed customers.
We will include them in the next final release demo versions as we still need to align them all and document them,
otherwise our demo forum will be flooded with questions on how to use an undocumented plugin.

Until then, you'll need to export your model as an .obj file and then import it manually into Octane.

Could you explain what setting i should be using along with the state of the scene?

i cant get materials to load from 3ds MAX 2011. I'm exporting as obj with "export materials" Checked
5 object, ground, tire, rim, caliper, Disk. unique names. all collapsed to editable poly. Correct scale.
I've tried standard and MR arch/design materials. all unique also, but i cant get it to import into octane correctly. it comes is with only one place to assign a material and none of the ones in max came over either. best i can do is assign one material to everything and that's it...

so how do i have several materials and how can i get them to import from the OBj?

use standard materials... neither mr nor vray materials will act as separate materials... this is a limitation in the obj exporter btw
