Crashing some scenes, not others

Hello,

I am running the demo version of octane in osx on my mac pro. I did a couple quick tests yesterday (after sorting out my drivers, thanks radiance...) and everything worked well and looked great. So I created a more complex scene today and decided to test it when it was about half done. Octane opens up fine, but when I add the .obj file it crashes. The scenes I made yesterday still work fine, and so do the demo scenes. I have a gt120, so i thought maybe the scene was too complex, so I started deleting things out and trying to reload it. I got all the way down to four walls, a ceiling and a floor, no materials or textures, and it still crashes. What could I have in the scene that would make it crash? Or is there something specific I should be doing when I export the .obj? I am using blender 2.53, same as I was using for the tests yesterday. Thanks in advance.

this is usually an export problem.
check this thread: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=21&t=362

also, have you tried the demosuite scenes to see if you have everything installed correctly ?
if not, watch our demo tutorial linked from the downloads page.

I did try the demo suites, and they all worked fine. There was an object on the second layer which I deleted and then everything worked fine. It was just a mesh with no faces, just a series of edges which I was using as wood router edge, but it didn't seem to like it. Now its working again.

you need to disable the 'edges' button in the OBJ export options in blender.
