Just got my license today, and I`m still cranking @ 2am. are there any material collections or test scenes available?

I have converted a few materials, but still, don't come across pretty accurate,

Thanks! Super release!

converted materils doesn't work that good..but there are material database =) so You can use hat to browse & learn something. after that You can try to make Your own mats, what is not so difficult =)

as for the test scenes, there are those used for benchmarks & some users share their scenes on forum too =) something from developers are shared too. so take a look & You'll find something out here!

could not find the material database either, but I agree, from production stand point, it would be super to have accurate materials database setup, instead of replacing 200 textures

Octane is only using GPU, is there a way to make it see also the CPU (dual x5690)?

Last night I brought couple of scenes from work, and one scene has over 200 textures, I was getting a memory error from octane. Is this a limitation of my card.

Havent upgraded the card yet, still on the fence of what should I get. Currently have 560ti, suggestions welcome

Hi Stoiqa,

Yes, the entire scene needs to fit into your GPU's VRAM. For a 560ti this would most likely be 1GB.
Also there is a texture count limit:

The current limitation on pre-Kepler GPUs is:
- 64 LDR RGBA textures
- 32 LDR greyscale textures
- 4 HDR RGBA textures
- 4 HDR greyscale textures

The current limitation on Kepler GPUs is:
- 144 LDR RGBA textures
- 68 LDR greyscale textures
- 10 HDR RGBA textures
- 10 HDR greyscale textures

So you may need a GPU with more VRAM and a Kepler with some tweaking of the textures to render this scene. Otherwise you would need to reduce the polygon count, texture size and count to fit this into your GPU.
Currently you can get 4GB 660ti/670/680's and the Titan has 6GB

Thanks
Chris.
