My demo version will render a single figure perfecty well but crashes when I put it into a room to create a scene. Is this a limition of the demo version or a problem with software itself? Can Octane render rooms and props or is it mainly for rendering single figures in high quality?

Are you using Octane Standalone demo, or one of the plugin demos?

WindowsError: [Error -529697949] Windows Error 0xE06D7363
Sometimes I receive the above message when Poser is transferring the scene to Octane.
Try another scene and I get this message
Cuda error mesh parameter error
I'm using a Geforce GTX660 Graphics card.

I haven't seen this error before. Can you provide a screenshot and the octaneplugin.log file for when this happens pls? It is in your Poser Temp folder.
Cuda error mesh parameter error
The DEMO version of the plugin is many versions behind the current stable release of the plugin, and it unfortunately does not handle irregularly constructed geometry well (ie. partially uv mapped props - which give this error). The current stable release should load this geometry correctly. I will update the DEMO version of the plugin to be aligned with the current stable release in the next few weeks to address this.

I dropped 2 figures into a scene to show you the error message. I appreciate what you say about this version being a long way behind the current stable plugin and will wait until this one is improved and then try again.

I did some more research into this error, and it is produced when the Poser python interpreter cannot open a DLL. So either a PoserPython or Octane plug DLL has not been installed correctly . May I suggest reinstalling Poser SR3.1 and the plugin to rectify this error.
The Cuda mesh error will be being caused by one of the props in your scene. If you send me the octaneplugin.log file (in the Poser Temp directory -> Poser->Edit->General Preferences->Misc to find this locn) after a failed load, I'll let you know which prop caused the problem.
