Do i need a second license to to have my renderslave/s render with octane?
Sending jobs to backburner and have the slave-computer/s render them ?
Usually rendersoftware or other max plugins offer at least a couple of free network render licenses.
what is the octane policy ?

You need to buy octane standalone and plugin licence for every rendernode.

Generally, i don´t mind buying rendernode licenses. But not for the price of a workstation-license. i have just 1 3dsmax license, so buying a rendernode license that offers a functionality that i don´t need, seems a bit overdone for me. Maybe there is a way to build a octane-max-render-version without a GUI-Frontend, something that works on Renderslaves only, for a adequate price ???
I am sure then everbody would be happy.

A non-interactive version for rendering on the farm is something we are really looking forward to. Ideally it would work with the plugin version. That way we would just submit a maya job with octane specified as the renderer.
