Adding an Object Mesh with multiple material. And license Q.

Hi, I am very interested in octanerender and I think this is the right direction. Good price and great concept for me.
My question is about "adding" or importing my own geometry into the Demo version, exported from Maya as .obj. When I "Add" the mesh with one shader it works great. But as soon as I Add mostly the same mesh with different materials and groups, all triangles, it loads but the Demo screen freeze and I need to End the Task to get out and start over.
I am running the demo on a core2 quad 2.4, 4 gig RAM and Nvidia Quadro 580 512. I works great with the demo project, slow but good. I tried reducing the triangle count on my mesh from 140K to 100K but is always the same situation, no more than one material. This is my testing machine as my Mac Pro has an ATI card. I am waiting for a fermi Mac card as the drivers are in the latest OS, but who knows when it will happen. My option now is this machine. I could buy a better GPU for it but I want to be sure with the software.
Is this a Demo limit or could be my machine?
This brings me to my next question. From what I read the license works on One machine, or one machine at a time. Could I buy one license for this PC and later use it only with my Mac? Could I use the license on a Mac with OSX and W7 one at a time, or do I need 2 separate licenses? I would like to have the flexibility, but in the end I think I will use it on the PC with a better GPU.
