Hey,
Does anyone here have any experience with hosting in europe ?
What is the best country to host in, as to be able to have good connectivity to european users ?
We've got 2 servers for the new octane live, giving redundancy, one in east coast US and on in west coast US,
but we'd like to add a 3rd in europe.
I think probably the netherlands or finland would be the best not ? (i think they are the centers of many links throughout europe)
And if so, does anyone know a reliable and fast company ?
We're not looking for cheap deals, but decent/reliable colocated freebsd hosting.

I am in France, and I have absolutely no experience in dedicated servers, but I have two websites and I have tested several web hosters. Currently I have one account at AMEN.FR and the access to the site I have there is really slow and not reliable full time. However, I can't say how they manage dedicated servers and if quality of such services would be better or not than simple web hosting. On the unique basis of my own small experience I wouldn't recommend them, but maybe for your needs it would make it. I can just give you their name and leave you testing and make your own opinion.
After searching for better hosting conditions (bigger disk space mainly) I finally took an account for my 3D related site at Canaca.com in CANADA, and it's very faster and there have been very few and short periods in 5 years when my site was not available. But as it is not in Europe, this information may not be really useful. I can't say more. I know very few in networks and servers.
