I know Ive posted before regarding mixed cards but i now have the opportunity to get two Identical cards in either GTX 590 3gb or GTX 670 2gb. I know that with the gtx 590's Ill have four cores with 1.5gig ram each and with the GTX 670's Ill have 2 cores with 2gig ram each. Now the big question what is the best option for now and the future. The GTX 590 option or the GTX 670 option. Is 1.5gb just too little to really do anything worthwhile or is GTX 590's The best option so far out there. I render characters with Poser plugin.

2xGTX590 should run more than twise as fast as 2xGTX670, though they (590) will use more power too..have ability to house less texture ('cause they are based on Fermi architecture, while 670 - Kepler =)..
vRam doesn't differ that much.. 1,5 vs 2..GB
for fastest rendering 590 is the way to go..
though I would pick 670 4GB versions for future compatability issues, temperature, texture count and vRam.

glimpse, the two gtx 590 are about 5-6 times faster than two gtx 670.
@Witpapier, if you often have big scenes with many big textures i would follow glimpses advice and go for 4 GB cards.
Cheers, mib.

no way! 590 is 2 downclocked 580s "glued" together, while two 670 outPerform one 580.. - so do the math..- there's benchmark thread..
difference in speed should be somewhere between 2-3 times. pluss Fermi is probably flatout while we might see some improvements on code for Kepler architecture in the future =)

You are right glimpse, miscalculation at early morning times.
