Hi there
i have been working on a small animation fly-trough, And i would like to use the new instancing feature to populate my scene with some trees.

the whole node setup in Octane standalone works fine, but if i use the maya exporter plugin and export my scene, it doesn't load the instances in my render.

i hope some of you guys can help me out.

here are some attachments so show you guys what i talk about.

tchoa did a csv - exporter. So you select your instances / particles in Maya export this data to csv what you can load in Octane standalone (and continue your animation workflow as usual).

Good Luck

Hi again :)

thanks for the quick reply ;) however, i already know how to export my instances to csv files with the exporter.

my issue is that i am having difficulties setting up the mesh nodes correctly. as you can see in the bottom picture, the instances are working just fine. And that is because i have selected the meshgroup node manually.

but if i export my scene through the maya exporter, octane will only render the scene obj node. And that is why i have made a rendertarget node to combine it all together, however the rendertarget resets my camera angles.

the link didn't really help much, i could see from all the pictures that they all made the same node system as me, i just need some clarification about the workflow with the instances.

And just to clarify, i am trying to make an camera animation, not a still picture :)

regards
Andrew

Maybe the exporter scripts needs a small update.
Anybody else has infos about it?

Yeah, i have a scene that is ready to be rendered, i just wished that i could figure it out with those instances and render target setup. I really need some info about this workflow.
