Leaving system BIOS issues aside, the nVidia driver does not support more than 8 GPUs in a single machine in either Linux or Windows.

Is this true??? How do they run huge render farms??? Don't they all have one one interface that you work with...

Has anyone on the forum seen more than 8 GPU's rendering?

Just wondering

I have never seen more than 8 Nvidia cards on one system work right, at least on Windows. We have tried 4x590 + one AMD 6970, so 9 GPUs are possible in this configuration: 8 for Octane, one for the primary display / app UI.

Goldorak how did you manage with the PSU`s? And is it for me possible to add an extra card with pci-extenders on an ASUS P6T7 with 4x 580s?
