Adding a fifth GPU for monitor!

Is this possible when using a pci-extender on the ASUS P6T7? I have 4x 580 installed, but would like an extra, cheap Quadro/GTX for screen handling. I have to turn off 1 580 now so for rendering I can only use 3 most of the time, because the GPU that is attached on the screen will fail in Octane.

Good solution would be a 3770K with the HD4000 igp, but the mainboards for those cpu`s are pretty expensive. I would rather try this, if possbile.

Anyone tried this out yet?

some motherboard have 6 until 8 vga slot, but mostly between some slot very close, 1 vga take 2 slot vga.

maybe you can try find Galaxy GeForce GTX 680 Warriors Edition this very slim vga take 1 slot in your motherboard, you can use 7 x GTX 680

That looks insane! But a bit to expensive for now ;-)

Do you know if it`s possible to put a low profile videocard for the monitor with a good 1250W PSU? :)

Using a pci-extender I can put 4x 580s + a low profile videocard, because I can not use all 4 on full load now in Octane, only 3.
