Network Paths not working?

Hi guys-
Quick question. When I first started working with Octane last week it wouldn't allow me to save out the OBJ file (from C4D) to my server. To keep moving I just worked from my desktop. Is there some reason it wouldn't allow me to work from my server? Really need to solve this.
I have noticed "Use relative paths" check box in the prefs. Is this somehow related?
Thanks, I know this may be a terribly stupid question. Had to ask.
Thanks
Alec

Hi Alec,
So this is a problem your having inside Cinema4D when using the export script?
Do you have your server setup as a mapped network drive (ie: it has a letter in explorer)?
Or are you talking about the standalone not being able to save the OCS file to the network? (File->Save in the standalone)?
Thanks
Chris.

Hi Chris-
This is coming straight out of the plugin for Cinema. If I direct it to a drive on my network is just throws up an error that it can't make the obj file or to that effect. If I keep it local and work from my desktop it's all good.
Ideas?
Thanks
Alec

I would check a couple of things:
1) Manually creating a file in the place you are saving to, to double check you have rights.
2) Save something else unrelated to the plugin from cinema 4d (a different type of export or just the project file or whatever) to the exact same location your trying to export to.
3) Double check there are not any funny characters or anything in the path and file name you are saving to.
4) Post the exact error message here
Thanks
Chris.

What definitely should work is to map the network folder to a drive.
But out of curiosity, what is the output on the C4D console?
Cheers,
Marcus
