Hi guys!

Still practising photorealism...

- Modelled in Sketchup
- UV-Unwrapped and UV-Mapped in Blender
- Stopped rendering after 5000 spp
- I also used the Alpha Render technique to get rid of the background

I'm working on a wooden surface on which the phone will rest.

Please comment!
;)

Sorry guys, I had to :)

I am also not sure about white background with such defined reflections showing on. I am all for proper studio setup

Nice one!

Regarding the Studio Setup, the problem is that Octane can't offer Light-Emitting materials for the moment...
:(

you fooled me with that render, looks real enough not having emitters yet, and GeorgoSK that strip is so true is almost not funny :D

Thanks Kubo !

Here's the final render.
It was a good opportunity to try Radiance's Supersampling technique - works perfectly!!!

See ya !

Hi

The render is good looking, but in which resolution is the display? Are the pixels negligible? And with shining display it will be better.

I know that Octane don't have the emiters yet, but with 32 bit HDR instead of display bitmap you can amplify the reflected light (the power of hdr can be controlled with existing bitmap and the 32 bit hdr can be pure white) .

Thanks Thomas_p,

Resolution of the display's original image is about 1000x600 if I remember well.

So... how would you do what you're talking about?
By mixing the display's initial material (UV-Mapped screen) with a white glossy material (using a HDRI image in the "diffuse" setting) ?

Cheers!

The resolution of iPhone display is 480x380px. And at you render are all pixels coupled all in all without dark spaces.

Instead of youre bitmap with display view, put a pure white 32 bit HDR image an instead power slider of this hdr youre bitmap with dark spaces and make gama on hdr higher....
