Just my 2 first renders to test Octane from Maya geometries.

I read on other posts that people encounter some issues exporting from it.
So I want to validate that OR is ready to work on my favorite soft.
My scene is just one geometry by furniture with regular maya materials : lambert, phong and blinn
No groups, no hierarchy, no textures for the moment. I'll test that on second part
I export all with defaut OBJ parameters except groups (because no groups...) :)
No problems while importing in OR 8-)
I just change preference scale (meters to centimeters) to match with Maya one.
et voila; 'plus qu'a cuire a feu doux

to questions to finish :
Does Octane is able to import complex hierarchies on objets? let's say to prepare future transforms in Octane ;)
I saw no path option for texture; Anyone knows how to put image file to import them correctly in OR?

Hi,

We will support RIB in the future that allows import of transforms etc.
OBJ files usually need the textures to be in the same directory as the OBJ file.
however some applications export with other paths.

you can best examine the MTL file that's exported with a text editor like notepad to see what it has written after export,
and see where it references the textures from...

ne te sens pas si seul que ça va, on ce cache c'est tout ;)

for the rest, you must have a realy basic shader node in maya to get the right texture exported(juste use lambert and phong, blind aren't support well yet).

Next week i'm gonna test some export option in maya..

You are lucky I only got my 8600M GT in my laptop

I think you're really the lucky guy, because Octane does not want to run on my 9400M GS

I don't buy on LDLC, materiel.net "et consort"
I directly order on Wholesalers.
GTX 260 next gen will arrive tomorrow says my dealer
waitwaitwait...
