Hi, I've been wanting to learn octane and render in general.
Finally i got a bit of time to do some exercise for the first time with some of furniture that I've designed.
Took a very long time to render, I must do something wrong here. (around 8 hrs)
I suspect the 4000x2000 render resolution might be the main problem.
if anyone could give me some advice, that would be greatly appreciated.. Thank you!
post processing, bit of selective colour with curve..

Hi, first thing is if you have not much glass in your setup reduce maxdepth to 4-6.
If it is to low glass looks black.
Next is causic_blur > 0.1 - 0.2
You don“t need PMC kernel in this setup use pathtracing, it is faster.
Are you rendering 16000 samples i 8 hrs?
Start with 1000, if is not enough set higher Octane render start from the last setting not from 0.
Please write your system specs in your signature, it helps now and later for support. (Forum > User Control Panel)
If you have a Nvidia GT 610 8 hrs is not much.
Cheers, mib.

Thank you for the advice!

i've just made the signature, hope it show up..
i got single gtx 580, would 8hr still be justifiable with this spec? when i initially start render it shows 16hrs, though i stopped at 8hrs.
and could you explain me a bit more about the causic_blur > 0.1 - 0.2 ? not to sure what this option does..
thank you mib!

Ha, typo, it is caustic_blur.
As far as I understand it blurs very bright areas of a picture but cost accuracy.
The GTX 580 is the fastest single card on earth atm., I think this picture should render 5 minutes to get clear.
Octane is designed to render forever, stop it if the picture is correct and clear.
Cheers, mib.
EDIT: I forgot the size, 5 minutes is a bit optimistic.
