layering materials

Does anybody know if layering textures with alpha information is somehow possible.
I want to put a colorful text onto a metal surface. The map with the typo comes with alpha transparency (png).
I want to stack it onto a metal material.
Of course you could do it in photoshop and then apply the combined map, but I would prefer to to the texture comp in Octane.
Is there a way to do it in Octane?

Thanks

Just load your image as alpha texture, this will give you a grayscale map in Octane, you can use for mixing other textures or materials.

I have the same problem.
But I dont know where I can add textures.
In the node editor?
In the attribue editor of a material.
For layering is to use Mix-Material?

Is there a tutorial?

I would say that if you don't know how to add textures then layering is the least of your worries. I'd learn the basics before going on to more complex stuff.

This should get you started

Thats a lot of good stuff :-)
Maybe I found the solution with it.

I have found the manual at the homepage (in the downloads). Maybe it will help, too.
