i haven't managed to find a developer that has offered a proper development of a lightwave plugin yet.

Hi,
Not yet, a bit of patience please...
I'm currently managing development of 3 other new exporters and the release of beta 2.3 and it's updated exporter guidelines.
It's on my todo-list, we can't develop 10 different plugins at the same time, it's expensive and i would'nt be able to work on octane anymore.
