Actual Viewport "Viewport Render"

You know how Octane render for 3ds Max can do a vieport render. It opens up a new window from which the camera of the active viewport is copied. The problem with this is that the actual viewport- not the render red one but rather nitrous (or whatever mode you are in) becomes really slow and takes some time to respond if one only has GPU. Would it be possible to have the viewport render be in the actual window in which one could then navigate in as one does with Octane Standalone and Cycles (blender)?
