Licensing question

With the announcement of the final v1.0 version i couldn't help wondering what will happen to the beta version i have.
I bought this beta license about 2 months ago, with the idea I could use Octane for quite some time. (I'm just a simple student, so I do not really have a lot of budget for specialised software like this).
What will happen with the beta licenses? Can I just continue using the Octane beta version? Will it stop working over time? Can I continue using the live db?
Also, I saw that the beta customers get the final version at half the price. To be honest I was expecting more of a discount on the final. If you add the 99 euro for the beta to the 1/2 price of 199 euro, this means that in the end we just paid 0,5 euro less than people who just buy the final version. I find this a bit disappointing seeing as we beta buyers were the first people to finance/support the project, even when it was not fully functional. So if my calculation is right, our feedback is only worth 0,5 euro to the makers of Octane.
Could someone please shed some light on this?
