GTX 580 fail, my story on warranty

So, I just wanted to share a recent event that might give some people some peace of mind.

I have 2 PNY GTX 580s in my comp, and the other day it started running bad, freezing, crashing and restarting constantly. I didn't know what the problem was, but just to eliminate things, I took out my 580 that is doing both my rendering and display. I didn't think it was the problem, but I wanted to eliminate anything to find the problem. Well, after taking out the card, it worked fine. i then took my other card (which ran fine for over 10 hours on a heavy rendering) and placed it into the PCIe slot that the other card was in to make sure it wasn't the motherboard. No problems, so at this point, I am pretty sure its the card I took out.

First, it should be noted, when you buy your card, you need to go online and register it or you wont get the warranty. Always register your cards, you have a couple months I think but it is very important!

I contacted PNY support and asked about the warranty and explained what I did to conclude it was that card that caused the problem. they look up my serial # and confirm it is under warranty (and apparently, unless I got confused, it seems the warranty is good for as long as I am alive, which is awesome). And because I went through and explained all the testing I did to find it was the problem, they didn't even question it. They just said ya, sounds like its the card. All I have to do is send it back and they will give me a new one.

I am posting this to make sure everyone is registering their cards and getting the lifetime warranty. Also that PNY fully stands by it and wont try to weasel their way out of it and blame it on you or something (at least not in my case). I'm sure other manufactures have a similar warranty, but I can confirm PNY has a great warranty. So if you are looking at buying a card, PNY is not a bad way to go.
A solid warranty is so important when purchasing a $500-$1000 card.

(I am in no way associated with PNY, I just wanted to share my story)

Has anyone had other manufactures stand by their warranty, or has anyone had any horror stories?

My Gainward GTX 460 suddenly died exactly one month after the warranty period expired, so I guess they timed the endurance of the components exactly right.

I'm surely selling & replacing my current one, before the warranty expires...
