Adding two GTX580 for new quad-sli setup

Hey guys,

I am currently in the position to get two 580`s extra  , but I am having some doubts about the new setup and the powersupply.
Four GTX 580`s will need 4x 8-pin, and 4x 6-pins connectors.

The powersupply that I can buy, Coolermaster Real Power 1250W http://www.computeralliance.com.au/1250 ... wer-supply, only has 3x 8-pins, and 6x 6-pins. Will I be able to succesfully convert two 6-pins to a single 8-pin, with a converter/adapter, like this one: https://www.google.nl/search?q=two+6+pi ... 0QX0-ICAAg

The new setup then will be:

- 3770K S1155
- Asus P8P67 WS Revolution
- Coolermaster Real Power 1250W
- 4x GTX580
- 8GB
- SSD

Can someone help me out? :( I can get the Coolermaster Real Power 1250W for 70 euros, which is a good deal.

Yes, i have used 2x 6pins with an adapter like that to get additional 8pin plug. In fact some graphics cards come with these adapters.
I think the fact that this PSU has 1125W on the 12v rail is a good sign.

Just a note that some 580's actually have more than just 1x8 and 1x6.
The EVGA 4GB 580 classified has 2x6 and 1x8. So i would double check exactly what the new 580's have.

Cheers
Chris.

These are standard MSI 580`s, so 1x 8-pin + 1x 6-pin will do it.

Good to hear that this PSU will probably do it. 1125W should be sufficient for a system that needs about 1080W. Still, it`s a close call isn`t it?
