urban study-housing module-possible bug?

Hi guys,
Here's a test with a module we're designing for a social interest housing project:

however, there seems to be a clipping issue with the camera. Notice how the upper part of the grass is turning white, and if I move the camera further out it totally makes that part of the model disappear:

does octane handle a camera clipping distance? The model is created 1:1 in blender
cheers!

Could you try to uncheck the smooth value for that material to see if you have the same issue ?
By the way there is no camera clipping in that demo version.

very cool
the clipping issue is precision due to the building being way too large.
I will add some options for this in the next release.

Thanks for replying guys.
@Enrico: I'll check that material option to see if it makes any difference.
@Radiance: It's great to know clipping options are planned. Indeed this model is considerably large and you need to get a bit far away to see it completely
I was wondering if it would be possible to have a regular model viewing mode (wireframe, shaded, textured), without any unbiased render calculation going on, so you could manipulate your model easily and once you got the view you like switch to the unbiased engine and start the render calculation. I think it would be a great addition to Octane
regards,
Alvaro
Edit: I just checked the grass material's smooth value and it was unchecked by default. Radiance has done a great job reading the materials created in blender; they all export with their properties intact

Hi,
I will be adding regular directlighting/raytracing with optional ambient occlusion,
which will make navigation and editing already faster.

yesssssssssssss!

And that part will be cpu or gpu based?

it will be the same as now,
but the render speed will be faster as there will be no indirect lighting computation,
only optional ambient occlusion.

Very nice, thanks a lot for the explanation. I'm eagerly waiting for its release.
Are there any demos planned (besides the linux one) showcasing the before-mentioned features? Or is this the only demo and then it's straight into beta?

Hi,
Yeah we will be supplying up-to-date demos at all times,
with as much as possible features enabled to give people the chance to try octane radiance propperly.
