Small demo animation (clay render)

Hi everyone !

I usually only do still images but I decided to add this small demo animation to my portfolio.
I'll probably integrate it as a teaser in my website.
I'm thinking of extending it at the end by crossfading the "clay" final image with a textured+colored render.

Comments and advice welcome, as always.

See ya guys !
;)

Technical details :
Modelled in Blender.
Rendered with Octane Kepler 2.58e test build - Directlighting - Texture environment (float_texture set to 1.00 = white) - 256 samples/frame - 45 minutes to render 300 frames
Compiled the png images + adjusted the levels + added my logo with VirtualDub.

do you animate it frame by frame or are there any tools for such kind of part-explosion anims?

Hi mbetke,

I did everything myself, excluding the tiles, for which I used Blender's modificator "Build".

Hi Peter1285,

1) I modelled (using Blender) the different components of the house as follows (I advise you to group the objects of the same kind so you can select and manipulate them easily - like the doors and windows for example, or the isolation panes that sit below the tiles)
Fairview_teaser_1.jpg
2) The trick to get the walls look like they are being built is : I put an object below the walls, to which I applied a boolean "Difference" modifier with the name of that object in the modifier's "Object" field.
I did the same with the other parts that build the same way : the inner walls and the timber frame.

3) I animated each isolation pane individually, having them start from high above (out of camera angle), and did the same for the windows and doors.

4) Eventually I applied a "Build" modifier for the tiles - you just have to play with the effect and specify at which frame it starts and at which frame it ends.

Hope it'll help you.
