Navigating the Render Viewport

Am I dense or does the LMB only arc the scene left to right and up & down about 180°? It doesn't seem to twist the scene 360° on the Y or X axis.
it rotates around the center of interest.
i'm going to finetune it a bit more in upcoming releases.
