Hey everyone Indigo is released, too bad its still CPU based.
But 2.2 got nice features (details here)

- Visual Material editor
Browse, download materials from, and upload materials from the Indigo Material Editor

- Absorption Layer Transmittance
Don't exactly know what is that, if its some kind of SSS ?

- Environment maps speed up
Speed-ups of 10 times or more when using environment maps

But 595€ is well, kinda expensive and its 195€ for one node license.
I hope Octane render will grow up fast to beat all those renderers who gonna include GPU rendering

Yeah the price in comparison to the emerging competition has put them way out of the bulk market now I think! Possibly counting on existing customers to foot the bill for ongoing development!

Ha!

I dont care if its a dwarf , if its significantly faster, equal or better
results { for animation } , and easier to program.

Ps Has anyone posted animation results, and speed comparisons,
for Octane?

I dont think indigo will be included in any feature film scale production as mental ray has been for years and years.
Down the road...perhaps, but as it stands, mental ray is a beast.

( render speed rarely matter on high end material )
