Hey everyone, while I wait for my purchase to go through and get my hands on the beta, I've been messing around with the demo. I have a question about geometry and smoothing.

So as far as I can tell OR doesn't subdivide geo at render time, so to get a SubD model to look good, I assume I just need to freeze said model first to lock it down a pretty decent resolution with plenty of geometry, right? It's no problem, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

And I'm totally drooling over the GTX 470 now... thanks a lot...

Oh, and Radiance, I'm a member over at the Lux boards. Did you ever get any help for the modo plug-in development? I remember you asked about that a while back. I can't code, but if you need a tester...

I know with my setup. using blender, I will have a model with a subD modifier on it. When I export the scene I tell it to apply all modifiers. That does what I need. There has been alot of talk about adding such a feature built into Octane but I think it is down the list of coming features.

The gtx470 is great. I have 2 in my setup and they rock. I've seen someone here saying that you can get an asus gtx465 and use a software unlock tool to make it into a gtx470. I'm not sure if that affect the amount of ram or not though. Should save you a few bucks if that is what's stopping you.
