This post might be premature but what's the plan with regards to an OSX & Linux release?

No mention was made on the payment options that the beta was compiled purely for Windows.
It wasn't until I extracted the "OctaneMaya Plugin v2.58 beta.pdf" that I found;

OctaneRenderTM for Autodesk®
Maya® is available for the following
operating systems :
• Windows XP (32 and 64 bit)
• Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit)
• Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)

Regards
Mat

hi matmcc, thank you for posting. you are correct, this detail on the Maya plugin's 'buy now' page had been overlooked. We'll add this on Octane site's payment options, at this stage the beta is compiled purely for Windows. In the meantime, please hold on to your plugin license if you are intending to use it under mac and linux. These will follow and your license will remain valid for those builds as well.

Thanks abreukers,

Happy to talk about this off-list but it's a bit disappointing - wouldn't it make more sense to run the beta programs for the other platforms concurrently?

We'd be happy to assist with this in any way we can.

Regards,
Mat

Hi there,

What's the status of the Mac OS X build? And will the requirements be the same-- will the new build still need CUDA 4.0 or can we finally update? :D Are you guys waiting on CUDA 5.0's final release?

Oh... And will the Mac build work with Maya x64?

Thanks!
